Like a braid of sweetgrass, Minookmii weaves together Indigenous Ways of Knowing, cultural interventions, and evidence-based CBT practices to meet the needs of the communities we serve.
We apply a holistic understanding to assessment and treatment planning that considers mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs.
Through our incorporation of Indigenous wellness frameworks that highlight belonging, hope, meaning, and purpose, we aim to provide safe, culturally grounded therapeutic services.
In the Minookmii program, we highlight the value of healing connection and the importance of relationships as medicine.
Minookmii therapists are skilled helpers that can assist community members with:
→ The effects of intergenerational and historical trauma
→ Interpersonal, emotional, and spiritual distress
→ Feelings of imbalance including anxiety and depression
→ Feelings of disconnection caused by traumatic events and/or stressors.
In addition to individual therapeutic sessions, the Minookmii program provides community members with opportunities for connection with:
→ Culturally relevant supports including Sacred Medicines, land-based healing, and horse supported wellness.
→ Wholistic Indigenous health services including Traditional Healers, Knowledge Keepers, and Elders.
→ Community events and connections including Sharing Circles and Ceremony.
